Plot Overview
State alchemist Edward Elric and his younger brother Alphonse travel to the desert city of Liore to investigate rumors of a Philosopher's Stone. There, they find the city is being run by a Cardinal Cornello, who performs "miracles" that Ed and Al recognize to be alchemy - except he seems to be ignoring the Law of Equivalent Exchange! They also meet a girl named Rose who follows Cornello because he has promised to bring her boyfriend back from the dead - something that Ed knows from personal experience cannot be done.
Notes
- Though this is the first episode, it actually begins three years after the start of the chain of events that the series chronicles. The true beginning of the story is shown in episode 3, progressing forward from that point.
