Plot Overview
The Penitite community begins to suspect Ryan when the strange murders continue, as Josiah's leadership is questioned and an inquisitor is brought in. When he discovers the power of the quilt, Josiah decides to eliminate two problems at once.

Happenings
- Effie's long desire is finally granted when Josiah selects her as his wife. However, he learns about the power of the quilt and kills her. He then uses the quilt to kill the inquisitor and frames Ryan for the murder. He is set to be executed, but manages to stop him as Micki and Jack arrive and they finally take back the quilt.
Characters
- Ryan realises there's too much work to be done and decides to return to Curious Goods. He pleads for Laura to return to the outside with him, but she needs to stay to help her community.
