Flight of the Conchords is a comedy that airs on HBO. It follows the two-man band Flight of the Conchords, which is made up of New Zealanders Bret on guitar and Jemaine on bass, as they try to make it in New York City. Murray, who works at the New Zealand consulate, is the band's manager, and his assistant is Greg. Mel is the band's biggest (and only) fan, who obsesses over, and sometimes stalks, the band, sometimes with his reluctant husband Doug along. The band's best friend is Dave, who runs a local pawn shop, who they often look to for advice.

In real life, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement are in a band called Flight of the Conchords, but the show is a fictionalized account of the band.

While discussing the second season, the band said it was most likely going to be the shows' last. So, the show may return at some point, but for now it is assumed to have ended. HBO has said they want a third season and have left it up to the creator's when and if that happens. Based on statements made by HBO executives and the band it is looking likely but not certain that a third season will be produced to coincide with the band's next album.
