Everybody's Talking is a game show that aired on ABC.
The show pits three players who view a film of everyday people talking about a subject without mentioning it out loud. Any of the players could ring in if they knew what the subject was. Each round is worth 100 points with the points value reduced as the film goes on. A player ringing in freezes the point value and takes a guess at the subject being talked about. The other two players may ring in at any time after and give different answers if they wish. The subject is shown after the film ends; players with the correct answer score the points.
The first player to 100 points or more wins the game, has the points converted to dollars and plays a bonus round. A subject is disclosed to studio and home audiences and a film is then run with people talking about that subject. The score starts at 100 and goes down as the film progresses. Once the player knows what the subject is, he/she buzzes in, freezing the score, writes down his/her response, then the film resumes. If he/she is correct, he/she wins money in the amount of the score doubled.
The show's civilian contestant format was replaced two months later by a celebrity panel playing for home viewers. Six years later, Jack Barry revived the show for CBS under the name Hollywood's Talking. Barry created Everybody's Talking for Jerome Schnurr Productions but had his name left off any credits as he was serving a self-imposed exile from TV due to the Quiz Show Scandals.
