Ed is the story of a lawyer who moves back to his home town, Stuckeyville, from New York after he is fired and comes home to find his wife having an affair with the mailman. He buys a bowling alley in Stuckeyville and decides to practise law from the office (but objects to be called a bowling alley lawyer) and then attempts to win the heart of Carol Vessey, the girl he adored in high school.
