Plot Overview

Dr. Greene considers joining a private medical practice; med student John Carter arrives at County General for the first day of his internship; Dr. Ross comes into work drunk and later suspects a mother of abusing her infant son; Dr. Lewis comforts a patient who has been diagnosed with cancer; Dr. Benton performs his first operation; Nurse Carol Hathaway shocks everyone when she's brought in to the ER after a suicide attempt.
