Plot Overview
American forces in Uzbekistan identify an American-educated physicist named Tariq Mahayni. Mahayni has been selling his expertise with nuclear weapons to terrorist groups in the Middle East. McNulty and J.T. want to capture him, but the photos of Mahayni aren't clear enough for their superiors to authorize a mission. Tisnewski sends the nearest recon team, which happens to be his old unit, to get clearer photos, which increase the verification to 90%. The mission is approved and the team goes in, intending to capture him during afternoon prayer at a local mosque.
However, the plan goes south when Mahayni, instead of praying, heads for the south exit to the building. The recon team rappels down the side of the mosque and captures him anyway, but one of the team members is severely wounded during a firefight with Mahayni's bodyguards and has to be snagged along with Mahayni in an exercise of the "Fulton Recovery System" (see below). Both survive, and Jim's old unit is finally rotated to safety back in the United States.

Allusions and References
- This episode makes repeated reference to the 1968 John Wayne film "The Green Berets", specifically to the movie's use of the "Fulton Recovery System" (otherwise known as Fulton's Skyhook). In the Fulton Recovery System, a plane (a C-130 in this episode) outfitted with a special rig flies over a target in a harness attached to a balloon at the end of a long strap (usually a cargo pallet, as the Fulton Recovery System can be dangerous to use on people). The plane snags the strap and drags the cargo skyward, where it is reeled into the plane's cargo bay.
Memorable Moments
- A team of Army special forces rappel down the side of a Uzbekistan mosque into a busy marketplace.
