Don't Forget the Lyrics! is a music game show that aired on FOX. Contestants on the series sing karaoke with accompaniment by a house band for popular songs until the lyrics and band drop out, forcing the contestant to finish the song on their own. If they get it right, they either move on to the next round or take the money they've earned and end the game. If they get 10 songs correct, they win $1 million.
The series is very similar to The Singing Bee, a program that debuted just one day earlier on NBC. Both of the shows feature contestants competing on the show by completing song lyrics. FOX is notorious for piggybacking onto other network's reality programs or, more often, stealing their thunder entirely by putting out a show with an identical spirit before the competition can react (for example, FOX's Trading Spouses to ABC's Wife Swap).
In 2010, a daily version of Don't Forget the Lyrics! aired in first-run syndication.
