Trivia
The Show
- This serial sees the destruction of the Doctor's sonic screwdriver, first utilised during Fury from the Deep and would not appear again until the TV movie. Saward's script saw the Doctor simply replace it, but Producer John Nathan-Turner objected, wanting to be rid of it, as he felt it was a narrative crutch that writers should be forced to avoid.
Behind the Scenes
- Davison named this serial as a favourite of his.
- The opening sequence in the TARDIS follows on directly from the previous serial Kinda, but since The Visitation was filmed before Kinda, Davison and Waterhouse had to act out their characters' responses to the events of Kinda based solely on the script.
