Dick Turpin is an adventure drama program that aired on ITV. This series chronicles the adventures of Dick Turpin, the notorious highwayman whos cry of "Stand and Deliver!" struck fear into travellers across England. Based on a character who supposedly really existed, this series shows Dick in the light of a lovable rogue who, although a thief, was respected by the community, because he also helped his own whenever he could. Aided and abeted by his sidekick Swiftnick, he always fights to keep one step ahead of Spiker, the hapless Captain working for Sir John Glutton, sworn to bring Turpin to the hangman's noose.
