Edie Britt is the neighborhood slut and proud of it. Her conquests, while legendary, have alienated her from the other women of Wisteria Lane. Her only friend came in the form of the town busy body, Martha Huber. The two shared an antagonistic relationship that sadly came to a tragic end when Martha was mysteriously murdered.
Her ongoing rivalry with Susan Mayer came to a head when Susan accidentally burnt Edie's house to the ground by knocking over a lit candle while Edie was "entertaining" a gentlemen caller. The rivalry became even more heated when the women set their sites on the same man, hunky new neighbor Mike Delfino. Edie eventually lost her grip on Mike, but maintains to be a thorn in Susan's side at any given opportunity.
As a real estate agent, she's aware of the comings and goings of the residents on Wisteria Lane. In this role, she was first to stumble upon the newest mysterious residents, Betty Applewhite and her son Matthew.
