Gameplay

  • Malaika Merrick's bad luck continued, with $200,000 and $500,000 falling out of the game. With her game on the verge of collapse, just before the final case in round 4 was opened, Howie instructed her to turn around, and to gauge the amount in the case by the audience's reaction. Howie cued "Open the case", but unknown to Malaika, the "case" was a small jewelry box that her boyfriend Sam opened, on his knee, in a gesture of proposal. Sam had to be pointed out (she was focusing on the other "case", but when she saw Sam, she hugged him and accepted the proposal.
  • Small case after small case brought hope to Malaika and Sam, but when the only other desirable amount - $50,000 - dropped out in round 7, and six-figures was then offered, Malaika dealt. Her $105,000 deal could have gone up to $215,000, but her case had $400, and more important than the money was the other deal she made.
  • A NY firefighter, Mike Wildes needed money for his son's college education, but it was made clear from the very first case that it would not be $1,000,000. Only one round passed before more large numbers disappeared. By the end of the show, only $300,000 was left.
