- Deal or no deal?
Deal or No Deal is a game show that aired in first-run syndication. It is hosted by Howie Mandel.
Although the general concept is similar to the version that runs on NBC, there are differences. Major differences include the fact that the show is half-hour instead of one-hour and the top prize is $500,000 instead of $1,000,000. This show is sometimes referred to in advertising as 'the half-hour version of Deal or No Deal'. There are only two models; the case openers are potential contestants. The contestant to play the game is determined by an upright roulette wheel.
When in development, it looked like Mandel was not going to host this version, and a pilot was shot with Arsenio Hall as the host.
For the second season, the show moved production from Culver City, California to Stamford, Connecticut. It was also being replayed Tuesday nights on MyNetwork TV. The show was officially canceled, but there is speculation that NBC may revive it for prime time.
