[edit] Plot Overview
After a young girl is found brutally raped and murdered in a city park, Dan orders a roundup of all known sex offenders and winds up with a creep out on bail on a rape charge, a neighbor of the dead girl who just happens to be a paroled sex offender, and a pervert who was making obscene phone calls to the girl. The discovery of another body in the park, not too far from where the girl was found, convinces August to look in another direction for the killer.

[edit] Behind the Scenes
In an interview with author Jon Etter, which was used for Etter's book on QM series and also for a Filmfax interview, director Gerald Mayer mentioned that he only did this one episode of Dan August because Burt Reynolds was difficult to work with and used a lot of his buddies, who wouldn't do a thing on the set without first consulting with Reynolds.
