Plot Overview

As Dominic and forensics examine Josie's death, Mick and Leo are pulled from the double shooting case they were working on and hand it over to Kosmo to wrap up.

While Kurtz looks into the shooting to see if it was by the book, Leo does his best to look out for his partner, Mick, who appears to be in a state of shock and confusion following the incident.

Notes

Arc Advancement

Happenings

  • Kurtz hands off the double shooting to Kosmo to finish. Soon the admirer with the teddy bears is seen ditching a gun he claims he found in his car and matches one of the guns used in the double shooting. The other matches her issue firearm. It's believed Josie killed them both and used a throwaway she later planted.
  • It's discovered that the single shot Josie fired was at herself and since all evidence backs their stories, there will be no action taken. However, Kurtz is critical of the procedure taken and will note it in her report.

Characters

  • Mick is visibly shaken and Leo has to make sure they're on the same page and to see that they share the same legal counsel.
  • Kosmo shows Leo Josie's notebook which has a page that makes it clear she was infatuated with Mick. Leo rips it out to protect Mick.
  • Sunny learns from Dominic about Mick's involvement in the shooting. She tries to immediately call him, but gets no response.
  • It's revealed Leo has been married to Lana for 34 years.
  • Josie's sister, Annie, quickly realises it was Mick who shot her sister and confronts him, which he later admits to and apologises. After it's revealed she killed herself, Mick stops by Anne and offers anything he can do, but she doesn't think there's anything he can.

Quotes

  • Dominic: Oh, Leo. Get some rehearsal time in with that lawyer there 'cause your sergeant's got you pegged as, uh, old school.
Leo: Yeah, we talked. I'm ready. She's gonna get a shitload of "old school" right in her face. "Old school." What does that make her? Preschool?
