Plot Overview

Dominic tries to rule on the death of the captain of a Chinese freighter, but is complicated by jurisdictional issues.

Rose and Leo continue to investigate the suicide in Richard Norton's office, but are catching wind of a cover-up.

Brian Curtis begins spreading rumours on Sue.

Happenings

  • Brian warns Sue about rumours she the prime suspect in Rick's murder and be careful she says to Kosmo and Mick because she might be set up. He then tells Kosmo about a rumour Sue stabbing a john.
  • Rose meets with Norton's assistant to talk and she explains everything, but Rose sees it as rehearsed. Norton claims he never saw Zang come in the office with any money and Zang's car is later found, but with no money. With all the evidence suggesting consistency with suicide, Dominic is ready to rule it that way, and Kurtz urges Rose and Leo to wrap up the investigation.
  • Following Norton, Leo sees him meet with the mayor. Soon Jacobs catches him and brings up his looming retirement. Leo interprets it as a threat.
  • Sergeant Parmir confronts Brian for the money he's taken from the informant fund.
  • Kurtz talks with Jacobs regarding the Roy Cardinale case. She also brings up the Internal investigation regarding the allegations of Kosmo and Sue and that she doesn't want to lose Kosmo. He then suggest they get together again on a regular basis.
  • Dunne admits to Mick that he lied to them because he's scared and that there are police involved. He tells them what happened and later identifies Dino and Gloria Walker, the former he says gave him the story to tell them about the bike. Kosmo knows Gloria and sees her as an easy way in. They tell this to Kurtz who then contacts Jacobs.
  • Brian talks to Finn about the possibility of getting bumped to homicide if he gets a conviction, but Finn makes it clear that his reputation means he's going to need something solid among other things such as assurance that he's clean.
