Plot Overview

Mick and Kosmo investigate the murder of a family, the father, who dies shortly afterwards, and surviving son being their only suspects.

Leo and Rose look for more clues as to why anyone would murder a stockbroker.

Dominic ramps up his campaign for Chief of Police.

Happenings

  • A constable named Klotchko is on the site of a overdose with Dominic who tells him there won't be an autopsy as ODs are considered low priority.
  • Suki finds Sue and brings her to Kosmo. She requests she get close to Curtis to get something from him. Sue then tells them about Curtis blackmailing Pierce by planting coke in his place, although she doesn't tell them it was her, only that she knows who did.
  • The autopsy on the stockbroker reveals he was also burned. A witness identifies the couple who dumped the body as a man and a woman. Maria also finds a key in his large intestine. It goes to a safety deposit box. In it, they find an address book with nothing but numbers.
  • Dominic learns one of the others taking at Chief of Police is an Inspector Bill Jacobs, who Dominic knows from working the narc squad during his RMCP days. Talking with him, Dominic is willing to back out if Jacobs makes a run for it, but Jacobs is willing to step aside to for Dominic and agrees to support him. He also learns another competitor is Lennie Banks.
  • Curtis gives Pierce Prentice's criminal record. Pierce then asks Curtis to make him leave Brenda alone.

Characters

  • Mick confesses to Kosmo that after the Josie shooting, he began to hear voices, but didn't see anyone because they went eventually went away. He later tells her about his fears of hurting someone and that he plans to see a private psychiatrist about it.
