Derek morgan goes to california to visit family. He also goes here to visit the grave of his dead friend from child hood. Throughout the first fifteen minutes of this episode he has several run ins with a local gang. When three murders take place a local cop accuses him of it the team come from virginia to help out. It is revealed that Morgan was abused as a child by a local football coach. They also find that he has a criminal record from child hood that hotch did not know about. In the end Morgan escaped the prison and goes to the football coach the had abused him as a child. Morgan suspects the it was him that killed the three local boys. It turns out that the football coach had abused all three of the boys that were killed and when they were going to speak to the police he killed them. The team show up shortly after and arrest the football coach. They then return to Virginia with Morgan.
