Notes
Trivia
The Show
- The ashtray from "Father's Day" can be seen next to Trollenberg as she views the footage of Mallory's death.
- Mallory and Zeller having an affair and preparing to tell Carson mirrors the moment in the original Creepshow story "Something to Tide You Over", where Harry and Becky were preparing to do the same with Richard.
Behind the Scenes
Allusions and References
- This story borrows obvious elements from the Cthulhu Mythos of H.P. Lovecraft. The primary source it shares elements with is his 1936 novella At the Mountains of Madness.
- The aspect of a top secret research facility in Antarctica that comes under siege by a world-destroying entity is a clear reference to John Carpenter's 1982 film The Thing.
- Trollenberg is named after the town of the same name from the 1958 film The Crawling Eye, which was similarly invaded by tentacled creatures from space.
