Plot Overview
The date is August 31, 1939. A refined young black lady who was suspected of being a prostitute is raped and suffocated. Years later, her granddaughter found a letter in her mother's possession that prompts Lilly to reopen the long dormant case. After meeting with the dead woman's friend, Lilly discovers that they were being harassed by a pair of white milkmen, one of whom is the leader of a supremacist group, and that she was being targeted for a possible attack by the group.
