Besides Lilly Rush, Kat Miller is the only female homicide detective in Philadelphia. She was formerly a detective in the narcotics division until she moved to homicide in the episode The Perfect Day. She is ashamed of the person she used to be when she was undercover. Her daughter, Veronica, never knew her former-gang-member father, Jarod Jones, until she met him in the episode Andy in C Minor.
