Plot Overview
Durkin agrees to testify about what he knows, so Maureen and Detective Hahn go to his apartment to meet with Durkin and his lawyer. Upon arriving, they're shocked to find that Durkin and the lawyer were both murdered, execution-style, but then the shooter returns to take out Maureen and Hahn. Annabeth returns to Veeder, offering him a lesser sentence , but only if he gives full disclosure, and is shocked to find out that Durkin was using Conlon's campaign to launder money, which casts a spotlight on Conlon and his integrity. Ultimately, Annabeth is able to bring Veeder's wife and her lover, money launderer DeShays, to trial for the four murders. Annabeth uses a videotape of Maureen's grand jury testimony to clear Conlon of any wrongdoing. Maureen's father asks Annabeth to give the eulogy at her funeral.
