Cinemax is a premium cable television network, typically sold in a package alongside its parent network HBO.

History

Broadcasting mainly feature films and documentaries, in 1990s Cinemax also began airing original scripted programming on its late night erotica programming block Max After Dark, as well as the occasional import series. Starting in 2011, the network began airing mainstream original programming; the first two being UK series Strike Back (whose second season, entiteled Project Dawn was co-produced by Cinemax), and action series Transporter and Hunted.
