Category talk:Suspense
I moved a bunch of the anthology series from "Mystery" to "Suspense" because we have the term "Mystery" defined rather narrowly (and accurately) in the glossary, and for most of those anthologies, few if any episodes were ever actually "mysteries." I certainly cannot, off-hand, remember a single episode of The Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock Presents or Tales from the Crypt which would qualify as a mystery. While I'm sure there were one or two in each series and don't make that comment with the intention of having someone start listing every episode of The Twilight Zone where the guy lost his car keys and he didn't find them until the end of the episode and I think that qualifies as a mystery so we should make the whole series blah blah blah, I'd say "Suspense" (like "Thriller" vs. the "Horror" category) is a broader, more open category in which we can place series which are mysterious in tone but not true, according to Hoyle "mysteries."
If someone's really upset by the recategorizations, that's fine, go back and re-categorize them. I'm just thinking the "Suspense" category is a useful little tool for more accurate descriptions. -- JCaesartalk 16:59, 31 August 2006 (EDT)
