Plot Overview
Catherine, Warick and Nick work two dead bodies found encased in tar on a construction site. When the block of tar with the two bodies in it is taken back to the lab, Grissom works with Catherine to crack the bodies out. When he accidently disturbs the evidence but has to leave to begin his shift, he volunteers Sara to assist Catherine. As the investigation proceeds, it is discovered that one victim was a mail order bride. Her name was Svetlana Melton. When it appears that her husband, Andrew Melton at the time was abusive, Sara becomes confrontational during the interview and then later with Catherine in the hallway. When Ecklie reprimands her in private, she insults him and he suspends her. When Grissom came back, he was shocked to discover that Ecklie suspended Sara and he told Grissom to fire her which made Grissom not happy. Grissom came to visit Sara. She revealed her past of her anger when she was child since her mother stabbed her husband to death. Suddenly, however, the CSI's soon realizes why Sara was right about Andrew. The necklace Svetlana wore was the same necklace that Andrew's newlywed was wearing. Andrew Melton was arrested. Grissom came over to Catherine and Ecklie and told them he will not fire Sara. Ecklie realizes that Sara is Grissom's responsibility.
