Plot Overview

Nick gets called to an innocuous crime scene, body parts and blood are present, but no body or other indication of a crime. The attendant officer gets sick on scene, and when he is turned away, Nick is kidnapped. The rest of the team begins to work the scene. A ransom note is received for one million dollars and a link to a webcam is included. The webcam shows Nick, buried alive. Catherine goes to her father and asks him for the money. He delivers. Grissom delivers the ransom as requested. When the kidnapper receives the ransom, he taunts Grissom, then blows himself up without telling Grissom how to find Nick. As the team works this case, they realize that it links to an old conviction six years previous, nothing that they every worked on.
