Plot Overview

Jon and Ponch bring together two people in need of someone in their lives, a 30-year CHP veteran who's being forced to retire and a lonely widow whose farm is being foreclosed on. They also help a man trapped in his car following an accident with a truck and also thwart an out-of-state P.I. who's been hired to snatch a little girl and bring her back to her father.

In the end Derk is able to provide valuable information as to the PI's whereabouts as he's fleeing toward the airport. The PI reaches his destination, and forces the girl into a waiting airplane, where the PI – knowing he's being pursued, tells the pilot to take off. Before the plane can take off, however, Ponch jams his nightstick in the flap, preventing the plane from leaving the ground. The PI realizes he's been beat and surrenders to police, and the girl is reunited with her mother.
