Plot Overview

Bobby's younger brother Bruce enters the CHP Academy and tries to balance his duties as a cadet with his ambition to be a star motorcycle racer, which leads to a slump in his ratings at the Academy and run-ins with his demanding Sergeant. When he quits the Academy, Ponch and Bobby appear before the Sergeant and a Captain to speak on Bruce's behalf. They have their hands full on the job as well--first with a pair of motorcycle bandits who are ripping off couriers working for a former CHP officer's delivery service, and also with a trio of hitch-hiking Valley girls who are robbing older men who give them rides. The girls wind up over their heads when they try to rob a guy who knows their phony gun scheme all too well and has plenty of experience with using a real gun.

The Show

First appearance of Bruce Penhall as Bruce Nelson. Near the end of the series, he would be utilized as Ponch's partner, due to Tom Reilly's legal troubles.

Katherine Moffat is billed here as Kitty Moffat.
