Plot Overview
A truck accident involves Ponch and Bobby with a young man who's involved with cattle rustling. Critically injured in the accident, he asks Ponch to take care of his pet orangutan, whom he claims can identify the ringleaders of the gang. The two officers visit the popular Palomino bar, where the young man's sister sings occasionally with the band, and wind up getting into a barroom brawl.

Charly McClain sings two of her hits in this episode, "Dancing Your Memory Away" and "With You". Mickey Gilley sings "Texas Heartache #1". Johnny Lee sings his number one song "Lookin' For Love", and Mickey and Johnny team up for "Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys".
