Plot Overview

Set in the 1930s, Dr. Meg Laurel leaves her medical practice in Boston to return to her hometown in the Appalachian Mountains using the modern medical techniques that she learned; however, she faces resistance from the town's residents, especially medicine woman Granny Arrowroot.
