[edit] The Show
- Before Denny Crane, before T.J. Hooker, before Kirk there was Kenneth Preston: In order to show flashbacks to Denny Crane as a young lawyer this episode uses footage from the 1957 Studio One two-part episode The Defender, which starred a twenty-five year-old William Shatner as Kenneth Preston. In the original episode he was a young defense attorney who, along with his firm owning father, was defending a nineteen year-old on trial for murder. His father was played by Ralph Bellamy and their client was played by Steve McQueen.
