Cloud 9's biodome

The starship Cloud 9 is a huge FTL-capable luxury liner, presumably used for functions or as a resort before the fall of the Colonies. Cloud 9 was damaged heavily during the escape from the Colonies and had to be evacuated while it was repaired. Upon completion of its repairs, it hosted the first meeting of the revived Quorum of Twelve under President Roslin.

Cloud 9's most unique feature is a massive biodome containing what almost appears to be a self-contained small city, including parks, trees, ponds, buildings large enough to host government meetings, socializing areas, and an artificial blue sky.

President Roslin, after she escaped from the Galactica, fled to the Cloud 9 with Lee Adama to evade pursuit by Colonel Tigh. It was mentioned at least once that Cloud 9 serves as a major transportation hub in the Fleet and that once they reached Cloud 9 finding the escapees would be almost impossible.

Cloud 9 was destroyed by a nuclear bomb detonated by Gina shortly after the presidential elections. The detonation also destroyed several smaller ships flying in proximity to Cloud 9.
