The Black Art of Dying is the tenth episode of the second season of Barnaby Jones, and the twenty-third episode overall.
Guest Stars: Joanne Linville (Kay Rogers), Fritz Weaver (Jason Matthews), Robert Pine (Paul Colling), Karen Machon (Kelly Barnes), Walter Brooke (Byron Colling), Jerry Lester (Chicky), L.K. Krugman (neighbor), Maxine Stuart (Ida), Ann Doran (Nurse Nora Randall), Jason Wingreen (Eddie), Mavis Neal Palmer (female party guest), George Cooper (male party guest)
Barnaby is hired to investigate the bizarre accidental death of a lawyer, which occurred shortly after he confronted a psychic who told his client that she could communicate with her late husband.
Fritz Weaver must have felt a sense of deja vu with this episode. He played pretty much the same character--a phony psychic out to fleece a rich lady--in the FBI episode "The Deadly Gift" two seasons before.
