Based on the DC Comics character, Aquaman is a superhero drama developed by the Smallville creators for The CW. However, the show was not picked up for the fall 2006 season. The pilot has since been released on the iTunes Music Store.

Arthur "A.C." Curry is a young twenty-something who owns half of a dive shop on fictional Tempest Key, Florida. He has special abilities, such as super-fast swimming, but doesn't use them seriously. In the pilot episode he learns that he is the lost Prince of Atlantis and that it is his destiny to defend the surface world he has embraced as his own and protect the ocean from which he was born.

The character of Aquaman appeared in the Smallville episode Aqua, where it was portrayed by a different actor. It remains unknown whether continuity between the universes of the two shows was intended.
