Basic Information
Nelle Porter (Portia de Rossi) enters and creates chaos within Cage and Fish from the beginning of Season 2. She's a powerful, striking, and intelligent lawyer with an awe of 'no nonsense' surrounding her. To begin with, the women of the firm (especially the title character Ally Mcbeal) sense that Nelle is a direct threat to them, this is mostly due to her beauty as well of her esteemed academic record. The women tend to dislike her instantly, and this is only provoked by her close friendship to the rather hated character of Ling Woo (played by Lucy Liu) whereas the men of the firm take a shining to Nelle, and this is especially apparent within her instant friendship with John Cage.
