Plot Overview
Two retired insurance sales clerks test their theory that people become killers when the temperature reaches 92 degrees when they observe, then deal with Mrs. Shrike, a shrewish, middle-aged alcoholic woman who antagonizes everyone she encounters during a heat wave. The agents try advising the quarrelsome and hostile Mrs. Shrike to change her ways, but she refuses and lashes out at them. Figuring Mrs. Shrike a lost cause, the agents leave shortly before the return of her husband Mr. Shrike, who kills her (off-camera) shortly after when he has enough of her harridan behavior and snaps.
