Overview

The Bishop family move to Taiwan after the father, Dennis, gets a promotion. From the beginning his wife, Candice, did not like the house. On the day of moving in she hears something rattling around in the cabinets and opens it to find a tarantula spider. Stacey, Dennis and Candice's older daughter would check for tarantulas before going to sleep every night. She would also hear voices calling her name as she slept.

The house had electrical problems related to the house being built illegally, and therefore not up to proper regulations. This meant during the rainy season, which leaked into their house, the light switches would electricute family members if they touched them. This added to the tension that was building amongst the family. Finally, they began talking about their experiences. But they felt they could not leave the house because of Dennis' job. One night, while Marissa, the youngest daughter, was home alone she was attacked by a spirit.

Fed up, the family called a daoist priest who visits the house. He tells them that the house was built on an old pig farm that burnt down in an accident that killed a husband and wife. He also said that the house had been built using shapes that create curses, and that the spirits were somehow using Marissa. Eventually the family resorted to having the priest do an exorcism on the house. However, instead of telling them that the spirits had been cleansed, he recommended leaving the house, which they did once Stacey had graduated.
