• The series' first contestant, Brian DeCato, answered seven questions correctly and left with $135,000. He used both of his "help from the mob" options (asking a contestant why they chose the answer they did, and deciding which of the two contestants who gave different answers was correct).
• Christine Tarbet ended the episode with $87,600; since she chose to continue playing, she was the show's first carryover contestant.
