A Time Warner company that is the direct corporate descendant of the motion picture distribution company incorporated in 1923 by the namesake Warner Brothers. It has been known by many names including Warner Bros. Studios, Warner Bros.-Seven Arts, and Warner Communications. The television production and distribution division of the company is Warner Bros. Television (founded in 1955) and its home video distributor is Warner Home Video (founded in 1978). Warner Bros. also owns DC Comics and a 50% stake in The CW network.
