Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is a science fiction comedy adapted from the film of the same name starring Rick Moranis, however the series did not include any of the original cast members from the movie. Like the movie, the series revolves around inventor Wayne Szalinski and his well-meaning but often dysfunctional inventions.
The series was created in first run syndication but was eventually picked up exclusively by Disney Channel for its last seasons. The series was ended on May 20, 2000 due to Disney's 65 episode policy.
