Hot Dog serves as a Viper pilot onboard the Galactica. He was one of the replacement pilots recruited from the civilian fleet after several of Galactica's pilots were killed in a flight deck accident. After a somewhat shaky start, he proved his worth as a fighter pilot by disobeying a direct order from Starbuck to return to Galactica and, instead, backed her up in her attempt to destroy eight Cylon Raiders. During that sortie his Viper was severely damaged, and upon his return to the ship Apollo gave him his pilot wings.
