Trivia

The Show

  • CBS originally aired A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving from its premiere on November 20, 1973 until 2000. Since then, it (along with all other Peanuts specials) has aired on ABC
  • The show traditionally airs on the night of Thanksgiving in the United States, though it has also aired on other nights during Thanksgiving week prior to the holiday
  • Since moving to ABC, the network has aired this and other Peanuts specials in their entirety instead of making cuts to scenes to fit the show into a half-hour slot. Because of the length of modern commercial breaks, however, this causes the aired special to run slightly past the bottom of the hour, so to fill the remaining time, ABC usually airs an additional Peanuts special afterward to give viewers a full hour of back-to-back Peanuts specials
