Trivia

Clothing

The show does not devote much attention to period accuracy, which is especially evident in the clothing. Minor characters can be seen to wear blue jeans or even printed camouflage clothing. Even the clothing of the main characters uses modern fabrics and machine stitching is evident. In several scenes, the outline of a brassiere of modern construction is visible underneath Maid Marian's shirts. The dyes, patterns, and designs of the clothing worn by many of the characters, especially Maid Marian, would be extremely extravagant by 12th century standards.

Combat

The mostly one-on-one combat in the series is extremely sub-par and poorly-choreographed for the action/adventure genre. The show is conspicuous for the complete lack of blood in scenes of combat or violence, even when a character is killed. (Various wounds are shown to be bloody, but only rarely.) Since Robin and his men are committed not to kill anyone, most fights are concluded by knocking out the opponent with a blow to the head. In reality, causing an opponent to lose consciousness in this manner is extremely difficult, especially in one blow. Indeed, losing consciousness is a sign of significant brain trauma, a much more serious injury than depicted in the show and potentially life-threatening.
