[edit] WCPO-TV
Hey, just wanted to say that the WCPO-TV article you started up is exactly the type of article we don't have any of on the TV IV and desperately need some of. It's a really nice write-up! --Wizardryo\talk 10:52, 26 December 2006 (EST)
[edit] local station article
Your definition of local station is mostly inaccurate it is focused a bit wrong. A good resource is the museum of broadcastings TV encyclopedia Stations and Station Groups, United States: Network, Call Signs/Letters, Superstation.
Check out other articles from this wiki too like Call Letters, booster, channel.
You can also check out Wikipedia but it has issues with focus being edited by too many people television channel Local television station Television network --The-jam 00:56, 28 December 2006 (EST)

[edit] Proposal Madness
Please chill out a little with the new Proposals pages for the next few days. We greatly appreciate your contributions, but many of these "Proposals" aren't really proposals; they're attention being called to bugs and kinks which are the result of the server switch. We know there are things which are looking different or not showing up right, which is why we've put up a notification that we're "working to straighten them out." All the admins are already focused on finding and fixing the problems and dealing with any hassles which are arising as a result. If you find a bug we may not have noticed, feel free to contact us via e-mail.
As for site redesign issues, the site redesign unfortunately and coincidentally happened just before the server problems, so we haven't had time to work on finishing the redesign. Hopefully, once the redesign is complete, the changes to the Main Page and the look of the site will make more sense and be self-apparent. If and when that is not the case, we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the new features. Meanwhile, please allow us a few days to sort everything out.
We sincerely appreciate your contributions and hope to have everything on track by the time February rolls around. Just chill out a little and give us some breathing room, please. -- JCaesartalk 22:49, 22 January 2007 (EST)
- The design thing might have been me. I just saw the "Colors" link when looking over the quickly growing Proposals page and had a thought. No urgency, just an idle thought. And Sportman, just put the questions over here, so they don't bloat the proposals page but can easily be accessed later. -- Lampbane 23:32, 22 January 2007 (EST)
- Eh, there have been a couple questions about the redesign. Truthfully, I don't mind them too much, as that is what the Proposals page is for, but right now, the server issues have been severely slowing down the redesign, so things which were meant to be somewhat obvious aren't. It's perfectly okay to ask questions and make suggestions, and we of course welcome them. But we know there are bugs and kinks, which is why we mention it in the site announce. We also want everyone to know that the redesign is a work in progress which will be finished soon, but in the meanwhile, please bear with us. -- JCaesartalk 23:43, 22 January 2007 (EST)
[edit] Movies
In re: Your question on DCEbot's talk page regarding movies:
One of the Wiki's earliest titles was Firefly, which pretty much from day one included information on the movie Serenity. I think that pretty much set the standard for dealing with movies, as near as I can tell. Basically, the Wiki should remain clear of theatrical movies except in those instances in which a movie based on a TV series continues or advances the storyline of the TV series, as with Serenity, the Star Trek movies, The X-Files movie, etc. This would not include the recent, very popular movie remakes of TV shows with new casts, new storylines, etc. And it certainly would not include any movie which had no other connection to a specific television show. The only grey area I can think of here would be something like South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, whose own title trumpets the fact that it is merely an amplified, extended and uncensored episode, which stars the cast of the series and was released during the series' run, but which, by the nature of the TV series, does not involve any continuing storylines. Those rare exceptions aside, I think it's pretty simple to determine which theatrical movies do and do not belong on the Wiki. -- JCaesartalk 18:01, 1 February 2007 (EST)
- Hm. Come to think of it, I suppose the other grey area would be movies not featuring the original cast but which are all or partially "canonical," as with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie which preceded the series. (But not with, say, the M*A*S*H movie.) That's a really good question you've raised there, honestly. -- JCaesartalk 18:10, 1 February 2007 (EST)
[edit] IVy Awards 2007
Congratulations! As one of the Top 30 editors to the TV IV, you are eligible to vote in the 2007 Editors' Choice IVy Awards. Voting is now open at the awards forum. Please e-mail me at sonofgaius (at) sbcglobal (dot) net for registration instructions. Votes for the Readers' Choice awards are on fire, and I think we all owe it to the readers to put as much thought and passion into our votes for the Editors' Choice awards as they are into theirs. Voting for competitive categories closes at 12:00 AM PST on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Thanks very much for all your help to the wiki, and I look forward to seeing you on the awards forum! -- JCaesartalk 23:21, 26 February 2008 (EST)
