[edit] Please Read

We've noticed that tviv.com redirects to here, and tviv.org is a page with a single link to here. We'd like to use these domains as the primary URLs for the site. Please contact CygnusTM if you are the owner of one or both of these. Thanks, The TV IV Administrators.
Welcome to The TV IV, which seeks to give you current, up-to-date information on your favorite shows, both new and old. This is an open encyclopedia of television shows, which means that anyone can edit the information at will. We urge you to go to your favorite television show and help contribute, as this website can only grow with your contributions. The TV IV aims to include information about every television show and is not limited to American or British television.
Even though the focus of this site is to eventually house full episode guides, don't be afraid to write up more in-depth information about your favorite television show. Articles related to television on a tangent are also encouraged; our primary goal is to make this a one-stop shop for all your television needs.
Notice: Please be aware that, since this is primarily a television website, spoilers are prevalent and you read at your own risk. As a general suggestion, only look at episode pages after you've seen the episode. Although users will do their best to ensure that nothing is spoiled for the viewer, please be aware that looking at character and episode pages before you have a full understanding of the show can lead you to be spoiled.

[edit] Featured Show

Battlestar Galactica (2003-) is a critically acclaimed and popular science fiction show that is currently airing on Sci-Fi. Decades ago, the Cylons, robot worker class of the Twelve Colonies, rebelled and were fought back by the Colonials in a long, bloody conflict. Fifty years later, the Cylons return, wiping out the unsuspecting Colonies in a single deadly surprise attack. Survivors from the Colonies form a rag-tag fugitive fleet of luxury ships, cargo transports, and various other FTL-capable vessels led by President of the Colonies Laura Roslin and defended by the last known surviving Colonial warship, the outdated Battlestar Galactica. Under the joint command of President Roslin and Commander William Adama of the Galactica, the fleet embarks on a long, dangerous journey to find the apocryphal lost thirteenth colony: Earth.

[edit] How You Can Help

  • Please visit the Proposals page and add your thoughts on the ideas being listed there! We need as much of your help as possible while The TV IV is still relatively new and growing. There are several propositions there that require immediate attention, so any input on any of the listed propositions will be appreciated.
  • Use the Dreamhost link located in the footer of every page to buy hosting. The TV IV will get a referral fee. If we get enough from this, we won't have to resort to other forms of revenue, like ads.
  • If you have an account at del.icio.us, we encourage you to bookmark it there.
  • Make sure you read the Help pages and look at other pages similar to your own before you start contributing so that you can be sure you're following The TV IV's layout conventions and using the proper templates for your pages. We appreciate your contributions, but please try to make sure people aren't going to have to go through and re-edit your work.
  • Help spread the word and promote The TV IV! The more people we have working on it, the more other people will come through word of mouth.

[edit] Special Feature

September is Season Premiere Month. Here's a rundown of notable shows that premiere this month. For a complete list of premiering shows in September, please refer to the September 2005 Calendar.

[edit] Shows of Interest

  • The Amazing Race: Although the Family Edition of the show won't be starting until September 27, GSN is continuing its uninterrupted run of the first seven seasons of The Amazing Race every night at 9PM.
  • Lost: The show is already facing heat for drawing out its plots into The X-Files territory. This season will be its make-or-break season, and will either cement the show as one of television's newest hits or one of television's biggest fumbles. Find out which category Lost classifies itself into by watching it on Wednesdays at 9PM (ET/PT) on ABC.
  • Prison Break: The show's central premise is that it isn't meant to last for nine seasons, drag on for eternity, and lose all meaning of what the show is supposed to be. Can it succeed?
  • Survivor: The eleventh season, Survivor: Guatemala, has started, and every other season of the show is being played on OLN. What more could a Survivor fan want?
  • NCIS: When we last left the NCIS crew, Kate's grey matter was splattered all over Tony's face, and steam was coming out of Gibbs' ears. Will they track down Ari and make him pay? Tune in Tuesdays at 8PM (ET/PT) on CBS to find out.
  • Veronica Mars: They used to be friends, a long time ago. With the killer, the rapist, and the mother's intentions revealed, Veronica Mars's world is no longer the same. Watch the fallout and collapse of Neptune's finest in the seldom watched, critically acclaimed premiere on September 28.
