Realizing they have not returned home, the Sliders must find Rembrandt who has been captured on a world where America is under Soviet rule. To do this they seek the help of a revolutionary group who themselves are trying to rescue their leader.

According to DVD commentary, FOX executives wanted to show how sliding could help bring about change and affect the worlds they visit, so the female revolutionary's speech about how the word would spread to other revolutionary groups and across the country was added.
