[edit] Plot Overview

from TNT press release
When the manager of a sleazy motel is murdered, the investigation points towards a maid who claims that the victim was trying to rape her. But something in her story doesn't wash. She goes to her local priest and invokes the right of sanctuary, putting the police department in a difficult political position during the new lieutenant's first week on the job. The religious aspect of the case also causes difficulties between Grace and her brother Johnny when Grace repeatedly shows disrespect for the Catholic Church. Earl, meanwhile, continues to be a presence in Grace's life, one she is actually beginning to accept to a small degree.
