While on an assignment to meet an undercover agent aboard a civilian transport ship, Gibbs is seriously injured in an explosion and taken to a hospital in a coma, where he dreams of painful memories about his past. With DiNozzo in charge, the rest of the NCIS team has to put their feelings about Gibbs aside and proceed with the investigation. Gibbs later awakens, but he is suffering from amnesia and has lost his memory of the last fifteen years.

  • [Ziva, having recognized a reference to "The Sound of Music", starts to sing. Tony claps a hand over her mouth.]
Tony: One note and I will lock you in a room and make you listen to "It's A Small World" for 24 hours straight. Understand?
    Ziva: Mmph!
  • [Ducky and Palmer are examining a blown-up corpse discovered to have been sitting on a bomb]
Palmer: Who would sit on an explosive?
Ducky: Someone who didn't know they were sitting on the explosive.
    Palmer: Of course.
Ducky: Did it myself once. No, twice. First time I was young, second time foolish.
Palmer: Why were you sitting on an explosive, Doctor?
Ducky: I just told you. I was young and foolish. Haven't you been listening?
