Knight Rider is an update of the 1980's series of the same name. A 2-hour telefilm aired in February 2008 and served as a backdoor pilot for the series which premiered in Fall 2008. The new version of K.I.T.T is a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR.

3 Yancey Arias was on contract with the series for 12 episodes, before being killed off in the episode Knight to King's Pawn.

4 Bruce Davison was on contract with the series for 11 episodes, before being killed off-screen in the episode Day Turns Into Knight (2). He makes his final appearance in the episode Knight to King's Pawn as a hologram.
