Plot Overview

General Burkalter pays another visit to Stalog 13. He brings with him his sister Gertrude and she is accompanied by her fiance Major Wolfgang Karp. Klink had earlier been in dread about the impending visit as another attempt by Burkalter in pairing his sister with Klink. To Klink's relief and surprise, she is planning to marry Major Karp. Klink's relief will soon turn to fear when he learns that Major Karp will be his second in command. This decision was not Burkalter's idea however, but it was Gertrude's who plans to have her fiance take over Klink's command and will herself be running the camp. This change of command could prove difficult for Hogan and his men. Hogan develops a plan to get rid of both Major Karp and his fiance by making Gertrude believe that her fiance is fooling around with Karen, an underground contact that Hogan gets to seduce Karp into being interested in her for more than her intellect. The plan works as Gertrude believes her fiance was beginning an affair with the young woman and then calling the wedding plans off. With this done, Stalog 13 is left alone with Klink still in command.
